jh: Saw the Graham Colton Band open for Better Than Ezra, which put them on my radar right away. Drive, the group's first full-length studio release, is an enjoyable CD with plenty of brain-sticky choruses (chorusi?). Nothing about it is too amazing, but most of the songs are catchy and I wouldn't consider any of them 'bad.' I'd respect Graham Colton a lot more if he wrote more of the lyrics by himself, but hey, not every great musician is great with lyrics (I'm not a musician, but I'm terrible at both!). And again, the Better Than Ezra influence shines through - lead singer/songwriter Kevin Griffin co-wrote 5 of the 11 songs on Drive. Three of these - "Cigarette," "Morning Light," and "First Week" are my runaway favorites. Throughout, Drive is a likeable and professional disc, even if it's not the most impressive thing you've ever heard.
