I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting a whole lot when I went to the theater to see Spider-Man. Sure, the commercial was neat and of course the idea appealed to me, but then that doesn't usually mean a lot. I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this movie when I saw it in the theater. The casting feels perfect, the action is intense, and the story runs exactly the way any half-interested Spider-Man fan would expect it to. Not so often do they get a comic book movie right to such a degree. If you've read any of the newer comics or, like me, loved the old Saturday morning cartoon series, this is a movie you'll enjoy. Spider-Man is not extremely deep or brainy, but it's exciting and consistently entertaining and that earns an A in my book. An A, and a 4 1/2 out of 5 rating, because the whole idea behind Spider-Man has always been cool and seeing it portrayed so well is great.
